Local History Resources at Westhoughton Library

Located at the upstairs of Westhoughton Library are the following items of local history :-

a) A timeline of Westhoughton’s history displayed along one wall

b) Several display cabinets containing materials relevant to Pretoria, Wingates Band and weaving

c) A display cabinet containing World War 1 materials and Pretoria information

d) A display cabinet containing books written by a Rev. Ditchfield formerly of Sunny Bank

e) Library books about local history

f) A collection of Westhoughton booklets

g) A collection of local history photos

h) A comprehensive collection of Ordnance Survey maps of Westhoughton

i) microfiche of old local newspapers

All of the above are available on request at the library reception desk.
